con spirito 2

The Con Spirito series of Friday lunchtime concerts, which has been running for almost twenty years, take place in St Andrew’s Uniting Church on the corner of Ann and Creek Streets in the city.  The series is scheduled for the fourth Friday of each month from March to October and is designed to provide mainly tertiary level music students with a performing opportunity different from that offered by their institution.  Students from the Queensland Conservatorium (QCGU) and the University of Queensland’s School of Music are regular performers in this series.  A wide range of music is presented and performers include singers, string players, wind players (both individual and ensembles), pianists and organists.  In recent series, groups have included a clarinet trio, saxophone quartet, string orchestra, brass ensemble, wind quintet and opera group.  The concerts are free of charge.  Please contact Barbara Tate (07) 3217 3529 or 0414505754 if you are interested in performing in these concerts or are interested in obtaining further details.
